Southeastern Indian Nations

The Nations that inhabited the Southeastern part of North American were varied and proud peoples. The land they inhabited was pristine woodlands to piedmont, to coastal islands. The best known among these tribes were the so called 5 civilized tribes, the Cherokee, Muscogee Creek, Chicksaw, Choctaw, and the Seminole which was actually a tribe made up of members from many other tribes, escaped slaves and whites who intermarried with the natives.
